Finally
I haven't put anything on this blog in four months! What has happened???? Hhhhmmmm, I guess I got really busy. I went back to work with a totally different schedule. I now teach Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, Horticulture and Floral Design, and I am the FFA advisor. I've been on four field trips, one of them an overnighter:)!
Lila is growing so much and changing all the time. She loves her family and is so sweet! She has eight teeth and crawls super fast. She walks with walking toys but just isn't interested. She enjoys other kids and loves her soft cougar blanket. She claps loves when people sing her silly songs. She is a petite 18 pounds and 28 inches long. And holy moly, she is BUSY! The only time she sits still is in the stroller on our daily jog. She looks calm but you can see her eyes taking in the new scenery. Anyway... doing well! Have a nice day!

7 Months
I wish everyone could see this baby when she wakes up in the morning. Laying on her belly, she holds up her head while pushing up on her elbows and hands, and peeks over the crib with big smiles and sleepy eyes. Oh wait, you can see her...
She has more personality everyday and for the most part, it is a sunny one! She is starting to get into the crawling position and is SO ready to move... she wants to go places.
...and we do go places. We went to the tri-cities where she got to see family and play with her cousins.
She runs errands with me everyday, riding in the stroller as Daisy and I slog to the grocery store, the movie rental place, the post office and Goin' Postal of course, to see grandma and grandpa, the park, the library, and pretty much all over town. We went to the city pool for the first time today... I am so glad to have an excuse to play like a kid:)
We are going to hang out with Auntie Raven, and cousins Gunner and Colt for swim lessons this week!

Lila Sits Up...
Tuesday, May 11, 2010
Just thinking about how fortunate and blessed I am to have a loving husband and beautiful baby. I had the best Mother's Day I've ever had... okay so it was my first. I woke up and Lila and Scott had brought me a beautiful Orchid, a card, and MY coffee. The coffee was a feet in itself. Scott had to remember that I like Lucky Charms, sugar free, fat free, and with white coffee. If you have ever been to a coffee stand with Scott, you know it is very noble of him to do this.
We had a great day, Scott and I tag teamed Chicken Cordon bleu, horseradish mashed potatoes, and napa cabbage salad with gruyere cheese and took it to his parents! It was a fun process and tasted even better. Hope all is well, here is more Lila!

Lila's Laugh
It is so funny to see what brings about Lila's laughing out loud. It only seems to happen after 6 PM and at the most random thing... playing tug-a-war with Daisy, Scott's silly faces, and tonight while strapped to my body during squat exercises and looking in the mirror.

First Bloomsday and Bites
Lila completed her first Bloomsday! Technically her second but she was only the size of a pea during her first one:)! She was soooo good - no crying for 3 hours of stroller time. The weather, which had been crazy the day before, turned out excellent. It was sunny and warm until the very end when it got windy and cold.
To finish the day, Lila had her first solid food...yummy rice cereal. Here it is, kinda' long so just look at what you want.

Lila is 5 Months
I would write more, but time is limited... plus I would rather spend my time with Lila:). Little Lila Cutie Pie is 5 months old on the 11th of this month. She weighs somewhere between 14 and 15 pounds, a lot lighter than other babies her age, but when I think about it, she is just petite. She laughs out loud, loves pretending to stand, look in the mirror, be in crowds, and she rolled over for the first time a few weeks ago.
Spring cleaning is almost done! Thanks Mom!

Running Shoes
Okay - the shoes are too big but she likes to hold herself up on her chubby little legs so I figured if she wants to stand, she can practice wearing shoes too. She is wobbly on those little sticks, but she is happy the minute she digs her toes into the ground. Lila loves the outdoors, if she gets cranky, we just carry her outside and it is like pushing a mute button. Anyway - have a great weekend. Cannot wait to meet my new nephew/1st cousin once removed:)!

4 Months
Wow, time flies by! Lila will be four months old tomorrow and she is growing. We had her 4 month check up yesterday and Lila now weighs 13 pounds and is 23 inches long. She smiles, laughs, plays with toys, looks at daisy, and loves to be outside. She loves mommy and daddy and all her family and friends. She really seems to be happiest when we have social time with lots of people around. She now fits into the cougar clothes she received as gifts - it is so much fun to play a little dress up! Of course, Lila can grow up to do whatever makes her happy, but we can dress her as a coug for now:).
I know things can change, but Lila has slept from 9:30 PM to 7 AM for 4 days in a row. Thank you God and thank you Lila! AND... she will go back to sleep for a while after eating so I can have a cup of coffee and update this info (or clean house, cook, write thank you letters, etc.). j
This is Lila at about 3 months old.
Play time with Dad!
Lila in pink and her first Cougar outfit!
I put a big huge cougar bow on her head and all she wanted to do was eat it! Can't blame her though, it was kinda funny!
And isn't she just adorable!

Outside
Lila and I spent a lot of time outside today and it is obvious by her sunny disposition that she loves to be outdoors. I tried to get Lila and Daisy to smile, but it is pretty hard to get a baby and a dog coordinated, specially with one arm.
Speaking of one arm... I got bad news today. I didn't just dislocate my shoulder, I tore 2 of the 3 rotator cuff ligaments. And, they don't just have a little tear but as the doctor said, they experienced a lot of trauma. I have surgery scheduled for March 18th so please keep us in your prayers.
That said, I'm feeling optimistic and finally really starting to enjoy being a mom. Lila is sleeping so much better at night that I am functioning and not just a walking zombie. She sleeps for about 6 hours, eats and sleeps for 3 to 4 more. Pretty good! We have her 4 month check up on the 11th and we will know her weight next week.
Yawning baby.

Cute Cousins
Gunner and Lila spent the whole weekend together and it was entertaining to watch. Gunner has grown and changed so much and he really seemed to like having someone small around... which I hope carries over to his new little brother. He was so good with her, only soft and nice touches and always saying where's Lila when he couldn't see her.
Even though Lila doesn't have much say in what she does, her and Gunner did all kinds of stuff together; they went to the park, rode in the car, went to the mall, watched "Cars", looked at each other, shared toys and even took a bath.
I look forward to the fun times to come when all of the news kids in the family get to play together like we used to do. We all get to watch them grow up together just like we did and are still doing. Gotta love family!

An Update
Lila has more expressions and makes new discoveries all the time. She has recently discovered that when her hand gets close to her mouth, she can suck on it and she goes to town. She holds her head steady and seams stronger. We help her with this by giving her lots of tummy time, or instead of real tummy time, we give her airplane tummy time that forces her to hold her head up.
She is sleeping much better - she seams to have figured out the difference between night and day and has one night stretch that lasts 4 to 6 hours! Hallelujah!!!
We have been jogging and walking together everyday. The walk helps her take a nice long afternoon nap and I get my exercise. I look pretty funny because I haven't broken out the jogging stroller and the regular stroller just doesn't look made for what we do, but I honestly have to say it rolls pretty smooth. I hook daisy to my waist so she gets to go wherever we go too!
We have gone to church and made it through the whole service for the last two weeks. I figure God wants me there because the timing works out perfect. I get up, get ready, feed Lila, she is awake for a long time, stays awake during the first part of worship, greetings, and announcements, and when she gets fussy, the music starts back up and she goes to sleep and stays calm for the sermon. Pretty cool!
This is what the people behind me at church see!
